Description
The tinySA Ultra portable spectrum analyzer features a 4,0-inch resistive touch color display that displays the full frequency range at 450 scan points, and includes a rechargeable battery that provides up to two hours of portable operation. In addition, the analyzer has two different modes: normal mode and ultra mode. The TinySA Ultra has many built-in tuning options, such as a switchable bandpass filter and a stepped input attenuator. It is important to remember that the maximum input level of the tinySA is +6 dBm. If you are unsure of the input signal level, it is recommended to use an attenuator.
When the tinySA Ultra is not being used as a spectrum analyzer, it can also be used as a sine wave or square wave generator.
The analyzer can be fully controlled from a PC via a USB cable. It also features automatic self-diagnosis and auto-calibration using a built-in signal generator.
Technical characteristics of the tinySA Ultra analyzer
- Frequency range of the analyzer:
– from 100 kHz to 800 MHz (in normal mode)
– from 100 kHz to 6 GHz (in Ultra mode) - Input impedance: 50 ohms (with input attenuator > 10 dB)
- Compression point at 1 dB: -1 dBm (at 0 dB internal attenuator)
- Phase noise: -90 dB/Hz for 100 kHz offset and -120 dB/Hz for 1 MHz offset
- Manual or automatic input attenuator, switchable from 0dB to 31dB in 1dB increments (with LNA off)
- Maximum permissible input signal level: +6 dBm at 0 dB input attenuator
- The maximum permissible short-term peak level of short input signals: +20 dBm, with an input attenuator of 30 dB
- Recommended input signal level in automatic input attenuator mode: +0 dBm
- For best measurement results, keep the input signal level <-25 dBm
- Maximum input voltage: ±5 V DC
- Dynamic range: 70 dB (no spurious harmonics at RBW 30 kHz)
- Power measurement resolution: 0,5 dB
- Frequency uniformity: ±2 dB to 5,3 GHz, ±5 dB from 5,3 GHz to 6 GHz
- Absolute power level measurement error: ± 2 dB (after calibration)
- Intersection point of the third-order modulation products (IIP3) at the input: +15 dBm, with an internal attenuator of 0 dB
- Bandwidth of resolution filters: 0.2, 1, 3, 10, 30, 100, 300, 600 and 850 kHz
- Scanning speed: more than 1000 pixels/sec, when using filters with the largest bandwidth
- Resolution: 51, 101, 145, 290 or 450 measurement points
- Automatic optimization of the actual scan points to ensure coverage of the entire scan range regardless of the selected resolution filter
- Suppression of spurious interference to differentiate between marks from internally generated harmonics and the real input signal
- Built-in 20 dB LNA with a noise factor of 5 dB
- Lowest noticeable signal level without LNA at 30 MHz frequency and 30 kHz resolution band: -102 dBm
- The smallest noticeable signal level from LNA at a frequency of 30 MHz and a resolution band of 200 Hz: -145 dBm
Characteristics of the signal generator
- Frequency range:
– sinusoidal output: 100 kHz – 800 MHz
– Square wave output: up to 4,4 GHz when not used as a spectrum analyzer - Harmonics: < -40 dBn in the range of 100 kHz - 800 MHz
- Modulation: AM, UP-FM, SH-FM
- Level Accuracy: ±2dB to 800MHz for levels between -72dBm and -18dBm, derating below -72dBm.
- Frequency resolution: 57,2 Hz
