Purpose and principle of action
The attenuator is designed to attenuate the power of radio frequency signals to levels that are suitable for measurements with spectrum analyzers, power meters, and other measuring equipment. The attenuator can also be used in other scenarios that require significant attenuation of the input signal.
The principle of operation is based on the use of an electronic power divider circuit consisting of several resistors installed on the radiator to remove excess heat. The use of a circuit built on precision resistors allows you to build a broadband attenuator, in which the wave resistance of both the input and output ports remains unchanged - 50 Ohms, in the entire operating frequency range. Such a scheme also has a constant attenuation coefficient of the level of the input radio signal with a low level of deviation from the nominal value.
